Media is annealing voters to Trump

This summer, 91% of the news stories on ABC, CBS and NBC about President Trump were negative, according to a study by the Media Research Council.

His job approval went from 44% on Memorial Day to 44% on Independence Day to 43% on Labor Day, as measured by Rasmussen.

Now if I were an advertiser and saw this, I would question why I am buying ads from these Bozos.

They huffed and puffed and could not blow the man down.

ABC, CBS, and NBC are so weak that combined they could not blow a candle out.

From News Busters:
Since Inauguration Day (January 20), Media Research Center analysts have reviewed every mention of President Trump and top administration officials on ABC’s World News Tonight, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News, including weekends. As of August 31, coverage of the administration has totaled nearly 74 hours (4,418 minutes) of airtime, or about 39 percent of all evening news coverage.
For comparison purposes, coverage of the Obama administration in all of 2015 and 2016 totaled 59 hours (3,544 minutes), or roughly 10 percent of the available broadcast airtime. In other words, Trump has already received more coverage in his first 224 days in office than Obama received in his final two years as President.
They wasted all that airtime trying to undermine his presidency, and guess what? They have made him stronger. They have immunized him from scandal.

Just as they did last summer.

Remember the Billy Bush tape?

It would have brought down any other candidate.

But not Donald Trump because by the time the Hillary camp rolled it out, Trump supporters were used to the press blowing things out of proportion when it came to Trump.

You can cry wolf only so many times before people are more angry at you than they are the wolf.

From News Busters:
The networks’ aggression in covering Trump contrasts with their docile, often adoring coverage of President Obama. Both Presidents are, of course, highly controversial — the key difference is that Obama’s policies matched the liberal media’s preferences, while Trump’s agenda clearly clashes with the establishment media’s world view.
On Friday’s Morning Joe, MSNBC analyst Mark Halperin gave the game away when he admitted that Trump “will get good coverage, if he works with Democrats, for as far as the eye can see. It will produce more liberal policies, which a lot of people in the media like.” All Presidents deserve critical news coverage from time to time, but the relentlessly hostile coverage Trump has seen thus far is as much a reflection of the media’s ideological bias as anything else.
I don't think working with Democrats will get the networks to ease up on President Trump.

The realization that it is useless and only alienates the audience will.

  1. All that effort for this result. They should double down on the vitriol, it seems to energize Donald Trump to do what he can to annoy them and that tends to please me.

  2. I do hope they keep it up. While chasing rabbits Trump is accomplishing a great deal of what he campaigned on. I haven't watched any "newz" in months so I know their ratings and ad dollars are going down.

  3. All one needs to know about the state of today's news media is this:

When NBC was searching for a new 'Meet The Press' host, they actually offered the position to Jon Stewart. Yes. Jon Stewart. At least Mr. Stewart knew enough about his limitations that without the "but I'm a comedian and this is a comedy show" to hide behind, he would get crushed.

So NBC gave the position to Chuck Todd. Mr. Todd has been vying with Jim Acosta of CNN to see who can spin news faster with a Progressive bent, as well as breaking stories that almost always are proven within a short period of time to be false. They break the most fundamental rules of the journalistic process and the professions ethics. Yet both these gentlemen [sic] lead the MSM in forever wrapping themselves in the holy cloak of "Journalism" as they subvert it. Constantly talking about the 4th estate and how important they are servicing the American people.

While President Trump is attacked constantly for his 36-42% approval rating in skewed polls, Congress approval ratings are around 8-9%, and the MSM (last I read) is at 6%.

In the past 2 years the American MSM has proven to be as corrupt as Hillary Clinton. And just as tone deaf.

  4. I don't think they will ever let up. They are like ESPN, who, despite dropping numbers, can't stop themselves from showing their true colors.

  5. Each of these corporate entities probably has some unique financial reason to be negative. Take Fox. A fact is the MurdochScions want to take over the remaining stock of Sky News in the UK. The UK has no first amendment and is very PC. London in August looks no different than Quwait, for example. I can say from a visit there last week, Many Brits hate or fear Trump. They see him as a war monger or worse against their money making globalist antibrexit views. The Scions have to look like they are not too right wing for the socialist UK media regulators to approve the deal.Ergo, Last night even Charles Payne had to lard his show with some left wing Trumphater jerks. Money Money Money.
But there may well be some plain old pure
hatred dripping out. Trump has in effect called the corporate giant's on the ground Media slaves 'swine' at prime time rallyes, prompting boos and dropped ratings. What is a Master to do if his property is threatened? Call the police? Trump is the police. Retaliation with lies is their preferred method now implying, on the surface, a wish to wound him politically. To me anyway,They are hoping to incite worse, reach into some twitterite Oswald, twist just enough.

  6. Sensational article.

Let's please keep in mind that the media is fragmented. The effect of the 3 major networks is a myth, as is the clout of cable TV. Newspapers are all but dead - the only ones that are referenced nationally are the New York Times and Washington Post. Talk radio is primarily conservative / libertarian, so the only time they are talked about is when something said can be spun as disgusting. Magazines can now be read on the Internet.

The Internet has revolutionized everything. All of the above media sources are available on it. Additionally, blogs such as Don's have sprung up. Blogs that are written by people that come out of professions with decades of experience - from journalists to historians to lawyers to businesspeople to home remodelers to auto repair experts to pet trainers to retired military, law enforcement and intelligence agency people and others.

Polls? There is an old saying by financial people pointing out to clients that they don't chart the value of their home 3 times a day. It's best to keep some perspective. Again, this is a great article.

  7. The media's failure, as was the RINOs and establishment structures, became indelibly transparent when Trump was elected by the little people who have now permanently recognized they'd been repeatedly betrayed. A revolution of the mind and spirit...which is what really frightened them, causing the meltdown we've been treated with.

  8. I'm beginning to believe the media doesn't rely on ads or subscribers anymore. My bet is that wealthy liberals are paying most--if not all--their bills.

    2. It's not about return on investment, it's about acquisition and consolidation of power (or the perception of power).

  9. "The realization that it is useless and only alienates the audience will." Yes, but I'm pretty sure it'll be another 6 months before that happens. At least.
