Trump is the dove with the olive branch

Ari Fleischer, President Bush 43's first press secretary, is upset at the New York Times coverage of the opening of the Jerusalem embassy.

"No violence in the West Bank. No violence in Jordan. No protests in the Arab Street. Only Hamas. Only a terrorist group that urged its militants to attack Israel. Terrorists who refuse to recognize Israel’s right to exist. And this is how the NYT covers it. Shame," he wrote.

I began writing a reply to Fleischer, but then I caught myself. Why give free content to Twitter, which hates conservative and wants us to die?

So if Mister Fleischer reads this, here goes.

As we both know, most Arabs lost their appetite for the destruction of Israel in the Yom Kippur War in 1973, which followed the Six Day War in 1967.

But embracing Israel cost Anwar Sadat his life, which is why one can see the reluctance by other Arab leaders to go public with that. And the dictators still hate Israel, although I think there is only one left.

The lesson of the Iraq War is that the New World Order is over. While I still support the removal of Saddam Hussein militarily, the United States can no more bring peace to the Middle East than Johnny Manziel can bring a Super Bowl ring to the Cleveland Browns.

President Trump knows all this. His son-in-law has worked with Bibi and the new Saudi leadership (as well as the old) to forge a new alliance. The United States is in a supporting role.

Trump's experience in Dubai informs him that the Arabs are talented and trustworthy and ready to take care of their own. He knows a world that cannot be imagined by a professor of International Relations at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service (Madeline Albright) or a provost at Stanford (Condoleezza Rice).

In Fake News Follies of 2017, I wrote of his trip last May, the importance of which the American press still fails to comprehend.

"Presidents Clinton and Obama made day trips to Canada for the first international visit. Bush 43 chose Mexico. President Trump’s first foreign trip was ambitious, beginning with a tour of the centers of the three Abrahamic religions — visiting Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the Vatican — followed by a NATO summit in Brussels and, lastly, a G7 economic summit in Taormina, Italy," I wrote.

"The Saudis feted the president, embracing his Jewish daughter, Ivanka, and his wife, Melania. The president, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross sword-danced with the Saudis. This celebrated a deal between the Trump administration and the Saudi regime. Incurious about what the deal was, the press blew it off as just a weird ceremony.

"Air Force One then became the first plane to travel directly from Riyadh to Ben Gurion Airport in Lod, Israel, a sign that nearly seventy years of hostility had ended. President Trump was bringing the world together to fight a common enemy — terrorists — with Arabs and Muslims leading the battle, not Westerners."

That flight was the presidential dove carrying the olive branch to Israel.

For many readers this is the first they have learned of that historic direct flight. That is how mouth-breathing dumb the American press is.

The players knew the president's itinerary. The Saudis signed off on it, just as months later they signed off on the embassy move. United Nations votes are for show.

The reason Jared Kushner, not Ambassador Friedman or a higher ranking official, gave the speech on Monday was for Saudi consumption. The president showed his faith in him.

They say a daughter marries the man most like her father. That speaks well Jared Kushner, and bodes well for the United States.

Oh, and the world. Of course, it is good for the world. How silly of me to forget the world. But mine is an America first blog.

  1. The NY Slime headline should have read, "Suicide by IDF," because that is what it was. We've seen the same propaganda efforts before in Gaza. Anyone remember the staged Al Durah incident and video? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

  2. Mark Steyn, sitting for Rush (who’s gonna do his shows for the next three days in London, covering the Royal Wedding? WTF?) was all over this today. Of course his first caller blamed Christian evangelicals for the loss of life. Steyn shot back that elementary schools in Palestine have a “Martyr of the Week” award for the best essay on how they want to kill Jews. 56 so far? Hell, make it 956.

  3. The Democrats were sure Trump would be a disaster. They made no plan or strategy for 2018 and 2020 because they assumed they wouldn't need one. They spent the last 18 months obsessing about Trump's tweets and other minutia, laughing and jeering at the golden haired clown.

Meanwhile, Trump quietly went to work. The real Trump, not the public persona.

Now the Democrats are finally starting to wake up and realize they are looking at running against peace, prosperity and a popular President.

But they still think it is just luck.

  4. New York has the most Jews in the US. The Daily News front page was a disgrace as well. The New YorkPost front page was very positive.
PDJT is doing amazing things in the Middle East. Strong move sending his Jewish children.

    1. If the Jews of New York had just a bit of love for their homeland, then a lot of things would change in the Mid East. But they don't. They would rather be progressives and hate some on Israel. As PDT would say, 'Sad!'

  5. "His son-in-law has worked with Bibi"....look at him and his spit comb hair. He's such big boy. It's almost as if he belong there. Well, not almost. The apartheid state from within is so calm and peaceful, it must mean something.

  6. Interesting that this post mentions the assassination of Sadat but says nothing about Rabin's assassination for trying to negotiate a peace.

  7. The Palestinians can have peace whenever they want it -- just accept Israel's peace plan. They don't accept, they don't want it bad enough.

Not yet. Most current Dems do not, and will not, believe the truth. Not now, not ever.

  8. The NYT made the headline because it considers itself the voice of political liberalism which is now all about "oppressed" minorities. To them the Palsestinans are oppressed. This is not the view of my conservative and religious Jewish friends but it is the view of the liberal secular Jews, many of whom are embarrassed by the religious ones, even in Israel. The founders of the NYT were jewish but the paper has gone out of it's way for decades to dispell any idea that religion plays any part in its editorial positions, which it portrays as created by the pure rational thought of superhuman genius. The religious Jews view such conceit as orginating from "self hating Jews". For the Times this appearance of standing by the 'weak' Palistinians is more important than the rational view Don presented.
There are other reasons. NYC is full of minorities like Muslims, and many blacks, who resent defacto Jewish control of the city's cultural, educational, and financial institutions. The paper is an icon in the city and does not want to be blamed by the secular Jews for inciting antisemitism that would affect them by supporting Israel. When Bibi visited the city several years ago all of central park was sealed off so he could safely Walk to the synagogue on Fith Ave. I know because I was stuck in the park for 2 hrs. I didn't care but the NYT does.
Another reason is that the Dems want to keep the Muslims voting 85% for them. Support for the embassy would threaten the political power of the NYT to manipulate them, or so they think. And of course Trump is out fulfilling promises and following the law instead of lying and getting embassy moving waivers like their pusillanimous servant Obama. The horror. Yesterday the paper warned it's slavish readers that DT "might even get a majority of the votes in 20", to them the end of the known universe. The NYT cares about itself first and nothing second.

  9. Re: "good for the world":

"I believe that a man must be a good patriot before he can be, and as the only possible way of being, a good citizen of the world. Experience teaches us that the average man who protests that his international feeling swamps his national feeling, that he does not care for his country because he cares so much for mankind, in actual practice proves himself the foe of mankind; that the man who says that he does not care to be a citizen of any one country, because he is the citizen of the world, is in fact usually and exceedingly undesirable citizen of whatever corner of the world he happens at the moment to be in. In the dim future all moral needs and moral standards may change; but at present, if a man can view his own country and all others countries from the same level with tepid indifference, it is wise to distrust the man who can take the same dispassionate view of his wife and mother. However broad and deep a man’s sympathies, however intense his activities, he need have no fear that they will be cramped by love of his native land.”"--Teddy Roosevelt

BTW, That NY Times cover is a nasty piece of Judenhass that would make Goebbels proud.

  10. Follow the NYTs history and they have always been anti-Israeli from the start of that nation. They are a rather sorry excuse for a news organization but when liberal run the show truth and honesty get distorted by their agenda.
